We’ve all done it….run our motor mouths and then said something we wish we could take back.  Often times we just need to take that extra pause before we speak to make sure that our words are kind, uplifting and in alignment with the situation’s highest good.

So what Kundalini yoga meditation can you do to help you think before you speak?  The “Think Before You Speak Meditation”, of course.

It’s easy, too!

 

Think Before You Speak

Simply sit in easy pose or another meditative posture (like in a chair with both feet on the ground, or rock pose which is sitting on your heels).  Place your hands in gyan mudra (which is very simple, just place the tips of your pointer fingers on the tips of your thumb and rest the back on your hands on your knees keeping the elbows straight.)  Now in a quick manner, like a heartbeat, chant “Maa, Maa, Maa, Maa” over and over.  Your lips will begin to tingle.  You can do this meditation for 3, 11 or 31 minutes.

This mantra is said to affect both the second and sixth chakras (relationships and communication).

It’s that simple and you can take it with you to go.  Duck out of your office on your lunch break and do three minutes in a park.  Try it on the subway.  Sit in a parking lot in your car before a meeting.  Allow Kundalini yoga to work for you….and think before you speak!
