woman doing breath exercises with an autumn backgroundCan simple breathing help you win a negotiation?  It seems crazy, but it can.  Six Second Breath (inhaling for 6 seconds and exhaling for 6 seconds) is a powerful tool you can use during a difficult negotiation.  Trying to score a raise?  Want to negotiate terms on a house?  Tricky meeting with a client?  Most people default to short, shallow breathing.  An average inhale is around 2 seconds, and can get shorter under stress and anxiety.  If you slow your breathing down during a stressful situation, you will be more centered, more in command of your speech and mind, and better able to access your intuition.  You will appear calm and in control.  It’s that simple!

Try it and let us know in the comments below how Six Second Breath worked for you!
