I’m often asked by people who go into surgery which mantra will benefit them.  There are three I’d recommend as mantra for surgery, although any mantra that uplifts you carries the right frequency, so make sure you pay attention to your own internal guidance system.

Before surgery, one mantra to connect with is the Triple Mantra. According to Spirit Voyage’s Mantrapedia, “Triple Mantra clears all types of psychic and physical obstacles in one’s daily life. It is a sure protector against car, plane and other accidents. It cuts through all opposing vibrations, thoughts, words and actions. Listening to or chanting TRIPLE MANTRA will strengthen your magnetic field and keep negativity away. There are three parts to this mantra. The first part will surround you with a powerful light of protection, the second part will remove obstacles from your spiritual path and the third part will remove all types of obstacles from your daily life.”  Boosting your magnetic field before surgery is an exceptional way of warding off infection and accident and surrounding you with a field of protective white light.

There are several wonderful versions of the Triple Mantra that I would recommend, including those by Nirinjan Kaur and Joseph Michael Levry Gurunam.

After surgery, there are two mantras I’d use.  The first is the Ra Ma Da Sa mantra, which brings deep healing.  There are many versions of this powerful mantra which can be used to heal the self or others. Snatam Kaur’s version is very well known, but there are other incredible versions such as those by Mirabai Ceiba, Satkirin Kaur and Sada Sat Kaur to name a few.  The other mantra, the Guru Ram Das mantra, brings healing and protection via the angelic spirit of Guru Ram Das. (Both mantras actually invoke the energy of Guru Ram Das, one directly and one with the bij or seed mantra of his name. Ra Ma Da Sa = RaM(a) DaS(a) = Ram Das.)  The Guru Ram Das mantra is one of the most recorded songs in Kundalini yoga mantra music, so you are sure to find one with the right vibration for you. Both the Ra Ma Da Sa mantra and the Guru Ram Das mantra are perfect for you to chant for another person while they are undergoing surgery as well, to “hold the high watch” for them and soothe your own fears.

Playing mantra ambiently in your home before and after surgery will help speed your healing process.  Reciting a mantra 11 times on your breath right before surgery will not only strengthen your magnetic field but will also help to soothe and calm your mind.

Triple Mantra:

Aad guray nameh, jugaad guray nameh, sat guray nameh, siri guru devay nameh.

Aad such, jugaad such, hai bhee such, Naanak hosee bhee such.

Aad such, jugaad such, hai bhai such, Naanak hosee bhai such.

Guru Ram Das:

** A wonderful book to read about the healing process, and including many techniques including dietary changes and yoga kriya, to read before and after any surgical procedure is Joseph Michael Levry Gurunam’s “The Divine Doctor“.
