If you’ve ever been on the receiving end of animosity, you know you can feel it. Very quickly, you can become exhausted, get a headache or a stomachache, or feel defeated. It’s difficult to keep your energy field strong in the face of direct opposition. Mantras contain within them an accumulated energy of thousands of years of focus. The mantra “Kal akal siri kal maha akal akal moorat” is a protective ashtang mantra, according to Yogi Bhajan. The Master of Kundalini yoga said that this mantra could wrap around animosity and seal it closed. It’s like a protective forcefield that makes it impossible for animosity to touch you. Yogi Bhajan even said that it could “remove the very shadow of death.”
During Gurdwara services, when the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, a collection of sacred writings, is transferred in and out of its resting place, this mantra is chanted with the Gurmantra “Waheguru” attached to it (Kal akal siri kal maha akal akal moorat waheguru). It literally seals the energy of waheguru around the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, protecting it and encasing it in honor.
We, too, are worthy of protection and honor. Chant this mantra for yourself, for your environment and your projects to keep them strong in the face of animosity.
