Like the surge of kundalini rising, the GuruGanesha Band’s inaugural tour kept gaining momentum and generating blissful energy as it made its way up the West Coast. Since getting underway on March 15th in Encinitas, CA, the tour drew fans numbering in the thousands, not to mention a panoply of superstar guest artists. Jai Uttal, Snatam Kaur, Karnamrita Dasi, Jai-Jagdeesh, Tina Malia, Sat Kartar Kaur, Thomas Barquee, Jaya Lakshmi, Gina Sala, Bhava Ram, Adrian Xavier, Nirinjan Kaur and Ash Ruiz all came on stage as guests to blend their voices and talents with those of GuruGanesha and his enlightened ensemble, which includes enchanting singer Michelle Hurtado, multi-instrumentalist Hans Christian, tabla/percussion master Daniel Paul, guitarist Sat Kartar Singh and bassist GuruSangat.

“It’s been amazing,” says GuruGanesha. “Snatam and her husband ended up staying for the whole concert and dancing. Jai Uttal brought his Stratocaster to our show in Berkeley and joined us for two songs. We rocked out on ‘Hari Om.’ It was off the charts.”

The GuruGanesha Band’s West Coast jaunt culminated with an exuberant packed house appearance at the Sat Nam Fest on April 14 in Joshua Tree, California. The GuruGanesha Band will next bring their unique brand of mantra music magic to the East Coast, with a tour that commences on May 18th in Arlington, Virginia. A tour of the Southeast and Midwest is also in the planning stages.

“I’m deeply grateful for the loving response we’ve received from audiences on every stop of the tour,” says GuruGanesha. “The raga based fusion music that we’re doing is being really well received. People recognize that we’re breaking new ground and they’re loving it.”
