The Moon is waning. We feel a gradual slowdown in our minds as our emotional reserves tend to wane. We feel the desire to turn inward and focus on the more meditative realms as opposed to trying to conquer the physical ones. Especially with Mercury retrograde and the nights getting longer (for those in the Northern Hemisphere), the overall feeling is to turn inward, reflect and go deep.
The first couple days of the week mark the end of this Mercury retrograde period so use this time to finish up any retrograde matters. Return things that you borrowed, payback money that you owe and collect on debts that are owed to you. Use Monday’s Leo energy to do it with a smile. Be gracious and patient and loving. Spend time with children. Let your own inner child express his or herself.
Tuesday marks the start of the 4th Quarter Moon. Right now the Moon is at a 90 degree angle to the Sun, suggesting that there may be tension between the masculine and feminine polarities. It seems as if everywhere you turn, someone wants to pick a fight. Furthermore, everyone wants to have control. There are a lot of power hungry people stirring the pot. Keep your ego eradicator handy and don’t be afraid to teach it to others.
Also take note that there is a void-of-course period from 4:11pm – 9pm EST (1:11pm – 6pm PST). During this period, avoid making any big decisions. This is not a time to hold strategy meetings. Instead, just stick to routine tasks.
Wednesday is the day that Mercury turns direct. The day itself is wonderful for meditation since it is a time that Mercury slows down and comes to a stop, thus helping your mind to slow down and stop! If you need extra support of getting to that place of stillness, consider picking up Ajeet Kaur’s manual “Shuniya” along with the accompanying musical CD. The manual itself contains 8 different meditations to be used with the “Maha Mrityunjai Mantra.”
Thursday is the first full day of Mercury’s direct motion, suggesting that our minds are moving in forward gear again. It is a time when we can correct all the errors and misunderstandings made during the retrograde period. Now we are in the clear to sign contracts, buy things with electrical and mechanical parts and say “I do” to the one we love.
Friday marks the day when the Sun enters Sagittarius. The Sun will transit this mutable fire sign for the next 30 days, during which time our focus turns to higher learning, philosophy and spirituality. It is a time to go big. Reach for the stars. Have fun. Take a trip somewhere. Sagittarius is the sign associated with foreign travel, foreign cultures and languages. Follow any path that your curiosity leads you toward. Take note that Friday night is a great night for romance. With the Moon in harmeous Libra, the mood calls for connection and intimacy.
Don’t do anything alone on Saturday. Partnership is the name of the game. Regardless of whether you are cleaning the house or going out on the town or tackling a domestic project, enlist the help of someone you love. The Libra Moon encourages us to put down our swords and offer hugs. Build bridges. Make relationships instead of tearing down existing ones. It is a day for justice, peace, harmony and connection. Reach out to others who may need a helping hand. Ask how you can serve.
The Moon enters Scorpio on Sunday morning, setting an intense and emotional tone to the day. Be careful of how you use your words. People are extra sensitive and they may respond with a sharp stinger aimed in your direction. Truth is coming to the surface and it may be difficult for certain people to deal with it. Don’t try to hide from scary situations. Instead, face the difficult issues head on. This is a day to get to the heart of the matters that arise and deal with the taboo subjects that no one wants to talk about. Overall, it is a day to do things with passion. Be bold, be brave and be true.
