Your energy may feel low as the week begins. We are coming up on the New Moon, suggesting that our emotional reserves are tapped. Monday finds us with a lunar energy in Aquarius, suggesting that we’ll get by with a little help from our friends! Seek out like-minded individuals and work to raise the vibration by lifting each other up and encouraging each other on all fronts. A bit of mantra goes a long way! Consider Guruganesha Band’s album, “Love is Love.” Pretty much the title says it all! No doubt this collection of gurmukhi mantras mixed with English lyrics will boost anyone’s spirit and get the toes tapping!
Tuesday is Mardi Gras, also known as “Fat Tuesday”. It is also the day that Mercury goes retrograde. We are entering the first of three Mercury retrograde periods for the year. Each one lasts about 3 weeks. During this time, let the buyer beware! It is not a good idea to sign any contracts or make any big deals. Anything you agree to may have to be reworked in the future. Do not purchase anything with mechanical or electrical parts. If you do, make sure they come with a good warranty! The good news is that Mercury retrograde is a good time to collect on money that is owed to you. Get back tupperware that you loaned out, and return books to their original owners. It is a time to reflect and review. Clean out the closets and get rid of what is no longer needed. Look through old journals and photos and get re-inspired. Maybe you started a painting or song and just let it go. Now is the time to go back and get re-inspired.
Keep in mind that interpersonal communication is off during this time as well. You may say something to someone and he or she hears something completely different than what you meant to communicate. Directions get confused, keys get lost and phones die at the most inconvenient time. This is when the computer stops talking with the printer and you see more cars broken down on the side of the road than usual. Allow extra time to get to places since travel delays and misunderstandings of times and directions are more likely during periods of Mercury retrograde.
Wednesday is the New Moon in Pisces, suggesting that it is a time of new beginnings. Consider what you need to let go of. In combination with Mercury in Retrograde, it is a good time to really clear out the past. Take inventory. Look closely at your behaviors of the past and where it has led you. What do you want to change? How do you want to see yourself in the future? Be conscious of what no longer serves you. Make a list of what you want to let go of. Put it into the universe this Wednesday. Be creative. Make a vision board. Make it colorful. Use pictures, colors and symbols to express what you’d like to manifest in your life.
The Moon enters go-get-’em Aries on Thursday afternoon. You may notice the change in mood from sensitive, compassionate, in-the-clouds Pisces to aggressive and assertive Aries, the sign of weapons and war. All of a sudden, in the early afternoon, people become more competitive. We want to be first, we want to be in charge, we want to call the shots.
This feeling continues on into Friday with the Aries Moon reigning. Use this opportunity to get out and exercise. Move your body. Any pent up energy you have is best used on the trail as opposed to an aggressive exchange with another person.
The Moon is void-of-course for a big chunk of the day on Saturday. From 12:14pm through the rest of the day EST (9:14am – 11:10pm PST), we feel as if our sense of direction is lost. We feel “out-of-whack”. This is not a good time to make any big decisions. Just stick to routine tasks.
Sunday is a day to relax. The Moon in Taurus asks us to slow down and enjoy. Have good meals among the company of good friends. Massages, bubble baths, candles and romance are all favored.
