This is the first full week of Mercury retrograde (Mercury turned retrograde this past Sunday). As a result, we are in a period in which it is best to review and reflect on the past as opposed to push forward with plans for the future. It is a time to get back money that is owed to you and to pay back any debts that you owe. Return items that you have borrowed and collect items that you have lent out. Remember that all things Mercury-related are a bit off during this period. That means communication, travel, mechanical and electrical objects are all affected. It is easy to confuse directions and messages. Our brain seems to be elsewhere. This is the time when we are more likely to lock ourselves out of the car, drop our phone in a puddle or leave the important documents at home when on the way to an important meeting. Furthermore, the Moon is waning this week – thus giving us another reason to turn in and reflect. It is a time to be meditative and inward-directed as opposed to being outwardly-orientated.
With the Moon in uplifting Sagittarius on Monday, the time is right to have fun and adventure with others. Expand your mind. Try something new. Maybe there is a new restaurant you want to try. Maybe there is a new meditation you want to try. Go to a lecture or musical event that seems inspiring. The Sagittarius Moon is encouraging us to step out of our comfort zone and try something different.
The big news on Tuesday is the Sun’s entrance into Pisces. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac – the most evolved. It is the sign closest to complete merger with the One. For the next four weeks, this will be the background music playing in everyone’s head. It is a time to dream, dance, put on your artistic hat and let your creative juices flow. Express yourself in ways that go beyond mere words. You may feel like you want to escape from reality. The danger here is we may be tempted to escape in ways that may not exactly be so healthy. Lookout for overindulgence in food, alcohol, drugs, etc. Instead, turn your mind toward other ways of escape – music, dance, art, or mantra. Consider Aykanna’s album, “Walking Sky, Dreaming Earth”. This juicy album includes tracks to invoke the ancestors, honor divine woman and reach for victory (Chattr Chakkr Varti). It’s one to have in your collection for sure.
On Wednesday, the Capricorn Moon encourages us to get to work. This is a good day to get things done. Make your list and knock those tasks off the chopping block. Your awareness of time is keen. Don’t get distracted by people who may be trying to pull you away from the tasks at hand. You can accomplish quite a bit. Stay focused and go for it. Don’t be afraid to tackle the hard stuff.
Early on Thursday morning you may feel solid and focused but there is a blip in the radar when the Moon goes void-of-course from 9:18am – 2:42pm EST (6:18am – 11:42am PST). During this time it is best not to make any major decisions or plans. Instead, just stick to routine tasks.
Lookout for the unexpected on Friday. With the Moon in unpredictable Aquarius, spontaneity is the name of the game. Roll with the unknown instead of trying to plan it all out.
The Moon is void-of-course for pretty much the entire day on Saturday. It’s a good day to stay in bed! Make no major plans. Realize that everyone is off. We have lost our intuition and sense of direction. Routine tasks are best.
Sunday marks the New Moon in Pisces. This is a time of new beginnings. It is a time to let go of the old and welcome in the new. Release what no longer serves you. If you are thinking about starting a new 40-day meditation or diet, this is the day to begin. Furthermore if you are looking to quit a habit or negative pattern in your life, this is the day to say goodbye once and for all.
