The Moon is waxing. She is growing larger and staying up later in the sky every night. This is a time to grow the hopes and dreams that you set for yourself at the time of the New Moon last week. Mercury is direct and the Moon is growing. It is time to move full steam ahead with projects, dreams and goals that are important to you. Remember also that we are in the middle of the Sun’s transit through the optimistic sign of Sagittarius. It is a time to go big. Travel plans to foriegn places, connections with foreign people, and striving toward higher spiritual goals and philosophies are all favored during this transformational time.
With that said, the week starts out in a fog. Don’t bother going into work on Monday. It is a better day to sleep in and just chill. The Moon is void-of-course all day so all day we are feeling off. Our intuition is out to lunch. We have lost our sense of direction. Connections with other people are awkward. Everyone feels off. This is not a time to hold strategy meetings or make any big decisions or plans.
The Moon enters Pisces on Tuesday morning and we have our intuition back once again. This is a good day for artistic pursuits. All creative projects are favored. At the same time note that the Moon is at a 90 degree angle with the Sun. This is the start of the 2nd Quarter phase. As a result, the connection between the male and female polarity is off. There is friction in the air for no good reason. Passive aggressive behavior is lurking at every turn.
This friction continues into Wednesday as well. It may be difficult to see eye-to-eye with others. Some people are being completely unrealistic and perhaps they are avoiding the issues completely. Others are exaggerating the truth and blowing things up to gigantic proportions. Confusion abounds.
There is a long void-of-course period on Thursday morning, suggesting that it’s a good idea not to rush into work right away. Nothing much will be accomplished during the morning hours while the Moon, our beacon of intuition and guidance, is out to lunch. At 2:44pm EST (11:44am PST), the Moon enters the next sign and is officially back on track again. You will feel the shift in energy. Direction is clear and everyone is raring to go.
The Moon is in Aries all day on Friday. This is a good day to engage your physical body. Aries is the sign associated with war and weapons. There is an aggressive feeling in the air. People are extra assertive. They want their way. Everyone wants to be first in line. There is a strong competitive spirit in the workplace. Buried anger bubbles up to the surface. The best way to channel this energy? Physical activity. This is a great day to exercise. Go for a long walk, run or bike ride. Engage with others in a competitive team sport.
Set your weekend plan early on Saturday morning. This is when you are most clear. Get up early and participate in a morning sadhana. If you are looking for a new version of the Aquarian mantras to help inspire you to rise in the Amrit Vela and chant, consider the “Russian Sadhana” by Guru Vir Kaur. This beautiful album of the mantras given by Yogi Bhajan specifically for this time includes also the Morning Call (Long Ek Ong Kars) and a gorgeous rendition of the “Long Time Sunshine.” For the rest of the day (starting at 10am EST (1pm PST), the Moon is void-of-course, suggesting that we are lost in the clouds without clear direction or sense of intuition.
On Sunday, the Moon is back on track again and so are we. This is a good day to relax, indulge, and enjoy the pleasures of life around us. Enjoy good food, music and comfort. This is a good time to exchange massages with the one you love. Take a walk and feel the Earth beneath your feet. Sunday night is also a great time for romance. Take your loved one out on a special date tonight.
