The Moon is waning this week. She is rising later and later each night, and each time appearing smaller and smaller in the sky. By the end of the week she’ll rise around midnight and not set until noon the next day. As a result, we may feel our emotional reserves waning this week as well. We find ourselves turning inward and becoming more introspective. We are starting to feel the summer itself starting to wane as well as we find ourselves at the end of the four-week transit of the happy, flamboyant and romantic Leo Sun.

The week is off to an energetic start with the Moon in Aries calling the shots. Everyone is feeling impatient, aggressive and a little bolder than usual. Arguments break out easily. It is a good day for physical exercise. Engage the body. The ruler of Aries is Mars, and Mars is all about action. Monday is a good day to get things started and get the ball rolling on projects that are important to you.

This Mars-lunar energy continues into Tuesday, the day known as “Mars” day. Look out for aggressive behavior in your house, your workplace, and out on the road. The key is to work with the energy instead of fighting against it. Now is the perfect time to pull out your copy of the Kundalini Yoga book, “Owner’s Manual for the Human Body” and practice the set “To Release Inner Anger”.

On Wednesday, the emotional energy calms down a bit and becomes more reserved. This is a time to slow down, relax, and enjoy the things you have instead of fighting to obtain more. A good homemade meal is the perfect remedy for any grumpy disposition. The feeling is stable, grounded, and perhaps a bit stubborn. Take pleasure in indulging the five senses. Exchange massages with someone you love.

On Thursday, all is good for for the first part of the day. Use the determined energy of the Taurus Moon to help you bring projects to a close and get things done. At 5:33pm EST (2:33pm PST), however, the Moon goes void-of-course and you may notice the shift in energy. Suddenly we have lost our sense of direction. Our intuition is temporarily offline. For the next five hours, it is best to stick to routine tasks instead of trying to make any major plans or decisions.

Friday’s big news is the Sun’s entrance into Virgo – the mutable Earth sign. This solar transit of the sign of the Virgin will be defining the background energy for the next four weeks. During this time we are asked to pay attention to the details. Focus on the little things. Ask what you need to do in your daily routine that will help you create lasting change that you’d like to see for the long run. Examine your health situation. Be realistic with regard to your diet. If there is a 40-day routine you’d like to try, now would be a good time to get it underway.

Heads are buzzing with information on Saturday thanks to the Moon’s entrance into Mercurial Gemini. Different subjects, people and ideas will catch your attention. Go ahead and follow your interests. You have no idea where a new curiosity will lead. Be social. Reach out to others who may have similar interests. Connect with the group and ask questions. Keep the conversation light and enjoy. This is not a time to go deep into the dark, taboo issues. Have fun and be open to something new. 

There is a long void-of-course period on Sunday that is good to be aware of. For the entire morning and a good part of the afternoon, we are operating without our beacon of intuition. We have lost our sense of direction. It is a good day to sleep in, be lazy and enjoy. Don’t make any big decisions or plans. Stick only to routine tasks. At 5:05pm EST (2:05pm PST), the Moon enters the next sign (Cancer), and we find ourselves back on track. For the remainder of the day, stick close to home and connect with your mother. Enjoy a home cooked meal with the whole family.
