September 24 was the celebration of Baba Siri Chand’s birthday!  Baba Siri Chand was the eldest son of Guru Nanak, and renowned as a powerful yogi and protector.  Guru Nanak charged Baba Siri Chand with taking care of the corrupt yogis of the time, who were causing problems.  He traveled extensively, spreading the teachings of the Guru wherever he went.

Yogi Bhajan said of Baba Siri Chand:

“Sri Chand is the eldest son of Guru Nanak.  He was Baal Yogeswar.  151 years he served the entire humanity and never looked more than 12 years in his appearance…. He was always in his subtle body.  Very few people met him in physical terminology, but everywhere he appeared in his radiant body, in perfect form and shape.”

Baba Siri Chand is known as a powerful protector to those in need.  If you ever find yourself under attack, you can call on Baba Siri Chand with a powerful mantra for protection.

A great yogi, Baba Siri Chand can also be an inspiration for your own personal sadhana (yoga practice).  Decorate your yoga space with this large photo of Baba Siri Chand seated in meditation.
