The Sanskrit word for the 5th chakra is “Vishuddha.” It means “purity.” This is the chakra of Sat Nam: Expressing the Truth of Your Identity to the Outside World. It is the chakra of speaking, hearing AND listening. We get our sense of Self, self-expression, confidence and courage here. The location of the 5th chakra is the Throat. The element for the 5th chakra is ether/space. It is connected to the cosmos. The emotion for the 5th chakra is faith and understanding. The sense for the 5th chakra is hearing.
In her book The Eight Human Talents, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa suggests the “miracle bend,” which stimulates the thyroid and parathyroid. together. Exhale through the nose as you return to original position.
