Aromatherapy and Yoga: Essential Oils for the Eighth Chakra
The Eighth Chakra, located in The Aura or Arc Line is related to our Radiance. It is the sum total of all the chakras and is our energy field; an electromagnetic field that surrounds the physical body in all directions, and can extend up to nine feet. The Eighth Chakra is the container and protector of all of the chakras, allowing positive energy to flow in, while blocking negative energy. It projects and protects positive energy, letting the LIGHT in. The Eight Chakra combines the effects of all chakras and constitutes their complete projection. Wahe Guru!
The color associated with the eighth Chakra is white.
When The Eighth Chaka is in balance, we radiate health. We feel and project our power. We have a wonderful feeling of well-being and self-esteem. We are Healthy, Happy and Holy!
When it is out of balance, we feel cloudy and confused and our radiance is diminished.
In his wonderful book ‘Meditation as Medicine,’ Dr. Dharma Singh Khalsa recommends the Sodarshan Chakra Kriya for the 8th chakra: to purify one’s karma and gain the pranic power of health and healing.
Triangle Pose, Ego Eradicator, Archer Pose, all arm exercises and meditation also help to balance the Eighth Chakra.
The Triple Mantra strengthens the Aura, clearing the karmas of past present and future:
AD GURAY NAMEH
JUGAAD GURAY NAMEH
SAT GURAY NAMEH
SIRI GURU DEVAY NAMEH
AD SUCH JUGAAD SUCH
HAI BHEE SUCH
NANAK HOSE BHEE SUCH
AD SUCH JUGAAD SUCH
NANAK HOSE BHAY SUCH
Neroli, Frankincense, Myrrh, Rose, Sandalwood, Jasmine, Lotus, Palo Santo…the essential oils that make us go ahhhhh when we inhale them, are all great 8th Charkra balancers and enhancers. They are Sacred Oils and Aromatic Treasures.
They are rare, and in most cases, they are expensive. Be careful when purchasing these oils, as many are adulterated.
The Shunia blend from LIGHT EOB is a deeply meditative and centering essential oil synergy. Any of the LIGHT EOB blends would work for opening and balancing the Aura/Arc Line Chakra, as they all contain some of the oils mentioned above.
Try making a blend, using a single essential oil, or contact me to order a custom blend just for you. As always, I value your feedback.
This is the last in the series of Aromatherapy, Kundalini Yoga and the Chakras. I hope that they have been helpful to you, and would love to hear from you about how you are using essential oils in your daily life.
