Many spiritual paths are sending out the same message – it is now the time for all of humanity to start living from the heart. The Ancients believed that the heart was the home of the lotus flower and within it dwells the soul. The heart is the perfect compass to guide us from the duality of this present reality (the Piscean Age) into this new unity consciousness (The Aquarian Age). The heart is beyond duality and conflict – it is the perfect balance point where the upper and lower chakras meet. The heart does not judge others as higher or lower – it has an innate knowing that we are all brothers and sisters on this planet.
To live fully from the heart we must be free from the tyranny of the mind. The mind must be clear and pure – in the Kundalini Yoga tradition we call this the neutral mind. The neutral mind is the perfect servant to your Soul’s Journey – free from the constant buzz of chattering thoughts. The neutral mind reminds you of your True Identity as a Spiritual Being having human experiences.
5 Ways to Live From Your Heart
1. Do whatever Pleases Your Heart
Take all your problems and concerns to the Heart Space. The Infinite space of the Heart KNOWS ALL and will lead you and all concerned in the right direction. Drop the things you think you should do, that give you a heavy heart and drain your energy. Trust that G.O.D. (the Source of all Life) will cover your weaknesses.
2. Speak from Your Heart
Bring your awareness to your heart when you are about to speak to someone. Feel them first and then communicate. You will see your exchanges become more meaningful for you and the other person. When you speak from the heart the other person feels included. With each exchange, you will feel your soul body blossom inside you.
Meditation is the ‘shower for the mind’. It will remove the dirt that is obscuring your vision of reality. A daily meditation practice will connect you to your neutral mind – the obedient servant to your Soul’s journey.
4. Instant Heart Opener Exercise
Here is a quick exercise you can do to open your heart – do this for at least 3 minutes.
Sit in a comfortable cross-legged position with a straight spine or sit in a chair with feet on the floor.
INHALE, whistling Whewwwwwwwww
EXHALE chanting Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
5. Chant, Chant, Chant
There is no better way to connect to your heart than to chant. The tip of the tongue can connect directly to the heart. The best mantra to chant is Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru. This mantra was given to Yogi Bhajan by Guru Ram Das the fourth Guru of the Sikhs, and will give you emotional relief.
