As we approach our next 40 Day Global Sadhana here at Spirit Voyage, we are beginning to connect with the energy of Guru Ram Das.  The second part of our sadhana is singing “Guru Guru Waheguru Guru Ram Das Guru” for 11 minutes.  Guru Ram Das, the fourth Guru of the Sikhs, is an energy of enormous love, compassion and gentleness.  When we chant, we connect with his subtle body, bringing his Grace to us.  If you are uncomfortable chanting to a Guru, then you can translate the mantra to it’s basic meaning.  “Ram Das” means “servant of God” and “Guru” means wisdom.  This mantra means “the wisdom that comes as the servant of the Infinite”.  And that’s something we can all sing about.

Enjoy this video of Gurunam Singh singing this powerful mantra at Spirit Fest 2010.  Gurunam has recorded this beautiful version of the song on his album “Crimson Sadhana.”

This video was taken at Spirit Fest 2010.  Gurunam Singh will be back at Spirit Fest 2011…so join him live for morning sadhana this September and sing along in person!
